Nancy Kay Loveless Sleichter was born in Fairfield, Iowa the daughter of Earl Andersen and Mary Martha Harryman Loveless.
Nancy graduated from Washington High School in 1956 and from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1959. Nancy and Richard Sleichter were married on September 18, 1960 in Washington. Nancy was employed at the Veterans Administrations Medical Center in Iowa City for 27 years. She was a member of the Kalona United Methodist Church and Corona Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. Her family was very important to her and traveling was a favorite hobby.
Two daughters and their husbands, Sandra and Kelly Lien of Castalia, IA and Cynthia and Chris Ross of Ames, IA, a daughter-in-law Mary Sleichter of Iowa City, and three grandchildren, Trygve Richard Lien, Anna-Britt Amnie Lien and Nicole Kay Ross, survive Nancy. Also surviving are a sister, Linda and husband C.E. Reber or Edina, MN a brother Michael and wife Cheri Loveless of Dubuque, IA, two uncles, Harold Harryman of Douds, IA, and Lucine Harryman of Manson, IA, four sisters-in-law, Jo Sleichter of Iowa City, Edith and husband Phil Moorhead of Marion, IA, Norma and husband Earl Fry, Dora Kallaus all of Kalona and a brother-in-law, Dan Sleichter of Chaska, MN. Other survivors include a number of nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard (May 3, 1999), her son Randy (August 3, 2003) a sister-in-law, Dortha Chapek three brothers-in-law, Paul Chapek, Robert Kallaus, and Carroll Sleichter.
A memorial fund has been established for Israel Family Hospice House of Ames or the Kalona United Methodist Church.
The family extends their appreciation for the many acts of kindness and prayers given in Nancy's behalf. Your love will be remembered always.
