Clifford M. Roberts 1904-1995

Clifford M. Roberts, 90, of Cedar Rapids and formerly of Wellman and Oxford, died Friday, January 6, 1995, at Living Center West, Cedar Rapids.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, in the Sharon Center United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert W. Barrick, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Born April 12, 1904, in Johnson County, he was a son of Meritt and Clara McKray Roberts and married Mary Showalter in 1926.
Mr. Roberts farmed the family Century Farm south of Oxford until late in his life. He later worked for several years at the University of Iowa and at the Oxford Sale Barn.
Following retirement, he did volunteer work at the Iowa City Crisis Center.
Mr. Roberts was a member of the Sharon Center United Methodist Church, the Positive Thinkers Club and a former member of the Washington County Optimists Club.
He had resided at Parkview Manor, Wellman since May, 1992, moving to Living Center West three days prior to his death.
He is survived by one son and one daughter-in-law, Leonard E. and Jo Roberts of Bloomington, Illinois; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Ada and KaDel Urice, Vinton, and Lois and Raymond Fergus, Cedar Rapids; one sister, Mrs. Lyal (Eudora) Orr, Albia; 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1978 and his parents.
A memorial fund has been established.
