Jane A. Harp, 60, of Iowa City, died Saturday, March 10, 2018 at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.

Her family will host a celebration of life Sunday from noon to 4:00 pm at The Kirkwood Room, 515 Kirkwood Avenue in Iowa City. Casual attire is encouraged!

If choosing to send flowers, the family kindly requests items that can be planted outside this spring. Memorial donations can be directed to Friends of the Iowa City Animal Foundation.
Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City is handling arrangements.

Born January 21, 1958 in Webster City, Iowa, the daughter of Allen and Mary (Claude) Edvenson, Jane grew up in Webster City, Iowa. She graduated from East High School in Des Moines and later received her master’s degree in nursing from the University of Iowa.
Jane married Lyle M. Harp August 4, 1979 in Webster City, Iowa.

She began working at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in 1979. Holding multiple positions throughout the hospital, Jane made friends in every department in which she worked, or worked with. She was lucky enough to be surrounded by those coworkers and friends during her final days.

Those who knew Jane best knew her passion for animals, especially her grand-dogs, traveling to new destinations and reading. A loving mom who supported her children and their interests, she excitedly attended sporting events, club meetings and band performances. Jane was an avid art collector and was always adding to her collections from her favorite artists.

Survivors include her husband Lyle; daughter Laura Harp of Kansas City, Missouri and son Kevin (Amanda) Harp of Des Moines; brothers and sisters, Bruce Edvenson (Brenda) of Runnells, Iowa,
Jim Edvenson (Linda) of Des Moines and Kay Pederson of Des Moines several nieces and nephews and her grand-dogs, Malcolm, Frankie, Phil, Stampy, Kujo and Kona.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents.
