Karin A. Wiedner, 19, of 510 Fifth Ave., Coralville, died Sunday at University Hospitals of cystic fibrosis.

Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with burial at 4 p.m. in St. Joseph’s Cemetery at Harpers Ferry. The Rev. Anthony Herald will officiate.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Lensing’s Oak Hill in Coralville, where a wake service will begin at 7 p.m. Memorial donations will go to the Regina Foundation or to the Iowa Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Miss Wiedner was born Dec. 29, 1970, in Iowa City, daughter of John and Julie McGowan Wiedner. She was a lifelong Coralville resident. She was a 1989 graduate of Regina high School and recently completed the fall semester at the University of Iowa. She was a member of the National Honor Society at Regina and played clarinet in the band. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by her parents; one sister, Kathryn “Katie” Wiedner of Omaha, Neb., and grandfathers, Melvin Wiedner of Harpers Ferry and Raymond McGowan of Lawler.

Her grandmothers died earlier.
