Melissa Anne (Donohue) Siegner, 51, of Coralville, passed away peacefully after an extended illness, at Mercy Hospice of Iowa City on Wednesday, October 11, 2017. A funeral to celebrate Melissa’s life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, October 14 at Lensing’s Oak Hill, 210 Holiday Road in Coralville. Visitation will be from 10 am until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Mercy Hospice of Mercy Iowa City.

Melissa was born on September 2, 1966 in Chesterfield, MO, the daughter of Robert Edward Donohue and Pamela Kay Davis. She grew up in Chesterfield and attended St. Joseph’s Academy in St. Louis. She went on to attend The University of Kansas (where she was a Kappa Kappa Gamma) and later graduated from The University of Illinois Chicago. Melissa worked for LaSalle Bank in Chicago and later worked for numerous companies in the Insurance industry.
Melissa was a fantastic cook. She loved gardening, traveling (especially to Florida), going to St. Louis Cardinal baseball games and rooting for the Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Bears. She also enjoyed canoeing and kayaking. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her husband Peter Siegner of Coralville, son Michael (Jenae) Siegner and their children of Grimes, IA, daughter Angela (Andrew) Love and their children of Cheyenne, WY, father Robert (Genevieve) Donohue of Chesterfield, MO, mother Pamela Lupinacci of Coralville, two brothers: John Patrick Donohue of St. Louis, MO, and David Christopher Donohue of Sedona, AZ; mother-in-law Joyce Siegner of Vail, IA, 9 brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Cathy, Judy, Cindy, Mary, Monica, Joe, John, Paul and Betsy; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Melissa was preceded in death by her brother Robert Donohue Jr, father-in-law James Siegner, and sister-in-law Gemma.
