Daisy M. Knox, 73, of Iowa City, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Tuesday, March 28th at the Gay & Ciha Funeral Service in Iowa City with visitation Tuesday from 10 am until the service.
Daisy Marie Davis was born April 18, 1943, in Sheffield, Alabama. On April 21, 1972 she was united in marriage to Johnny Babe Knox, in Akron, Ohio. Daisy will be remembered as a mother, grandmother, aunt and friend with a heart bigger than life itself. Although she never had a lot to give, she was always willing to share with those in need. She was also one who valued a person for themselves, never quick to judge. Daisy will be celebrated for bringing her family back together and providing them with a lifetime of memories. She was the flower in their hearts, Daisy, Ms. Daisy.
Her family includes her children, Raymond Allen (Martha) of Michigan, Carolyn Nelson-Davis (Jeff Nelson) of Iowa City, Robert Allen (Liz) of Iowa City, Veronica Knox of Iowa City, Martelle Knox of Iowa City and Marshall Knox of Michigan; grandchildren, Tyrek and Tanasia Allen, Markelle Washington, Dequantya Ray, Jamarcus Knox, Andre Poole, Jay’Wan Winters, Danielle Syvixay, Lakesha Clayton, Natusha Davis, Antwon Davis, Erica Davis, Raymond Allen Jr., Amanda Allen, Shay-Lynn Knox, Travone Knox and Audrianna Knox, Marques Reeves, Travelle Allen, Jalen Allen, Juwan Allen and Jereima Allen; great-grandchildren, Kyliaa Ray, Somphaeng Syvixay Jr. as well as numerous other grand and great-grandchildren; close nephew, Darrell Wayne Eastland and her siblings, Ethel Nelson, Patricia Martin, Grace Jackson and John Davis. Daisy’s family also includes numerous extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Jack Davis, Tracie Davis, Ernest Davis, Robert Davis and Maddie Eastland.
