Donald C. “Don” Andrews, 84, of Iowa City, died Saturday morning, March 11, 2017 at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Iowa City.

Funeral Services will begin at 10:30 am Wednesday at Lensing Funeral Service in Iowa City. Entombment with military honors will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the Iowa City VA Hospital.

Don was born August 23, 1932 in Urbana, Iowa, the son of Harold and Velma (Craft) Andrews. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955.

Don worked at Owens Brush / Oral B Laboratories and was a member of Roy Chopek / Walter “Bud” Ott American Legion Post 17 in Iowa City. He was also a member of County Johnson Irish.

Don was joined in marriage to Margaret Kutcher on April 5, 1975.

He is survived by his wife Margaret; a sister, Cherie (Jeff) Tampir of Maquoketa,
step-children, Laurette Linnell of Iowa City, Virginia (Varney) Youngs of Rochester, Iowa and C. Michael Deatsch of Herman, Missouri; daughter in law, Donna Deatsch of Florida; 6 step-grandchildren; 12 step great grandchildren; 2 step great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, two cousins, Judy Clark and Arlene Comon of Prescott, Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and sister in law, Dean and Donna Andrews and a step great grandchild, Kaleb.
