C. Leo Buell, 86, of Iowa City passed away, January 6, 2017 at his home.

Leo was born December 20, 1930, in Charles City, Iowa; the son of Clarence and Christina (May) Buell. He married Joan Bucknell on April 21, 1952.

Leo made his living farming, working construction and as an architectural draftsman.

His family includes his wife of 64 years, Joan; children, Christina Hendrick (Steve), of San Marcos, California, Lauretta Doyle (Jerry) of Chandler, Arizona, Catherine Hansen (Brad) of New Berlin, Wisconsin and Mark Buell of Iowa City; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Ray Buell of Fargo, North Dakota and sister, Anna Marie Struck of Corte Madera, California. Leo was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Mass will be 10 am Tuesday, January 10th at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Iowa City with visitation Monday from 4-6 pm at Gay & Ciha Funeral Service where a Rosary service will begin at 6 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Iowa City Hospice.
