Former Pastor of St. Luke’s Methodist
Church Passes Away at Iowa City

Rev. Dr. J. S. McCord, one of the best known ministers in the Methodist church in Iowa, died in his home in Iowa City Saturday afternoon. Dr. McCord was well known in Dubuque where he was located for several years, leaving here ten years ago. He was also stationed at Davenport, and has been at Iowa City for several years. He was not a robust man at any time and had been in very poor health for many years. Deceased was engaged in the work of pastor in Iowa for twenty-seven years, and was a noble Christian gentlemen. He is survived by his wife and one son.
