Craig James Fredericks went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 20th, 2016 after a brief illness. He will be greatly missed by many family and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12 PM, Sunday, November 6th at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. Following the service there will be a meal at The Kirkwood Room.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 PM, Monday, November 7th at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
A special thank you to those who assisted the family during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Craig James Fredericks Memorial Fund to help the family with expenses.
Craig was born on September 20th, 1957 to Joyce (Skinner) Fredericks and Dr. Charles Fredericks Sr. in Des Moines, Iowa. As a child Craig enjoyed playing many sports including skiing, swimming, football, and golf. He was also involved in boy scouts. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1976 and attended Coe College and the University of Iowa. Craig owned and operated his business, Iowa City Reprographics, for 20 years in Iowa City and Des Moines, Iowa. In Iowa City he created a happy, successful life raising his daughter Libby, his step-daughter Alexia, his dog and companion Angel, and many other family pets. He was very devoted to his family especially his daughter Libby who meant the world to him.
Craig had many interests and hobbies including watching and playing golf, and traveling throughout the United States and the world visiting Norway, Sweden, Ireland, Jamaica, Morocco, Mexico, Canada, and many other places. He also was an avid sports fan cheering for the Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs, and attending many bowl games. He is smiling up above cheering on the Cubbies in the World Series. Craig loved cooking and having family meals, listening to music, architectural clubs, and being a kind and loving person to his friends and family.
Craig is survived by many family members including Daughter, Libby (Matthew) Oliver; Step-Daughter, Alexia (Jeremy) Hultman-Lampe and children Evan, Jack, and Henry; Father, Dr. Charles Fredericks Sr.; Siblings, Charles (Mary) Fredericks Jr., Diane (David) Gutfreund, and children Erika (Patrick) Sullivan, and Jeff (Teresa) Gutfreund, and John Fredericks; Half-Siblings, Ryan Fredericks (Molly Switkawski), and Katie (Jess) Johnson and children Elizabeth and Jake.
