MRS. SCHMIDT IS DEAD AT DAUGHTERS HOME - Mrs. Elizabeth Schmidt passed away last evening at 8 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Kathryn Bartovsky, 622 E Jefferson Street after an illness of about four weeks. Mrs. Schmidt was 86 years of age and leaves seven children, two sons and five daughters, Mrs. K. Bartovsky and Mrs. Frank Vrchoticky of Iowa City. Mrs. Mary Kouba of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. James Longer of Washington, Iowa, Mrs. Maggie (Ben) Miller of Chitima, Alaska, Albert Schmidt of Union Township and Frank Schmidt of Cedar Rapids.Also, two sisters Mrs. Barbara Novak of Iowa City and Mrs. Henry Luehrman of Cedar Rapids. Mrs. Schmidt has lived in Iowa City for the past four years coming here from Cedar Rapids. The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Wenceslaus Church.
