Donna J. Arman, 85, of Coralville, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at the Mercy Hospice Care Unit in Iowa City. Donna’s wishes were for no services but to simply deed her body to the UI Carver College of Medicine. Memorials to Donna may be made to Iowa City Hospice or to the Mercy Hospice Care Unit, through the Mercy Hospital Foundation.

Donna was born on July 2, 1930, in Lodi, OH, the daughter of Herbert and Wilda Myers. She received a bachelor’s degree from Ashland University and was the editor of the college newspaper her senior year. Donna received a law degree from The Ohio State University, but then followed her heart into a profession that she loved and continued throughout her life—teaching—earning a master’s degree in education from West Virginia University. She taught in many places, including Taiwan, Hong Kong, West Virginia, Virginia, and Iowa, retiring in 2000.

She is survived by her three children, Diana (John) Lundell of Coralville, Andrew Arman of Coralville, and Alice (Brian) Schmitt of Colorado Springs, CO; two siblings, June Knoll of Norwalk, OH, and Andrew (Marguerite) Myers of Denton, MD; and three grandchildren, Laura, Joe, and Emily.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents
