Linda Murray, 67, of Iowa City, IA, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016 at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City, with a reception to follow at The Kirkwood Room, 515 Kirkwood Ave., Iowa City, IA, 52240

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center and Iowa City Hospice.

Linda was born December 29, 1948 in West Burlington, IA, the daughter of Dale and Mary Lou (Mapes) Murray. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in Social Work. Linda worked at Eagle Food Center, Bergan and Weyer Law Office, and, most recently, the Center for Disabilities and Development at the University of Iowa. She retired from CDD in 2014 after 20 years.

Linda was a beloved Aunt to her nieces, nephew, and their children. Nothing gave her more pleasure than spending time with them. She loved animals and was a house sitter for over 30 years for many family and friends who entrusted their pets to Linda’s loving care. Linda enjoyed baking and going out to eat with her many friends. She will be remembered for her love of all things sparkly, especially on her clothes and shoes.

Linda is survived by her 3 siblings, Richard (Gloria) Murray of Houston, TX, Scott (Beverly) Murray of Ankeny, IA, and Janice (Catherine Hirsch) Murray of Iowa City, IA; and many extended family.
