Walter Carney was born March 1,1938 in Iowa City to Willard Carney Sr. and Nona (Wildman) Carney; He married Dorothy Berg on June 25,1955 in West Branch. Survivors include his wife; four sons Tim Carney of Tipton, Terry Carney of Tipton, Walt Carney Jr.of West Branch and Kevin Carney of West Branch; and one daughter Connie Compton of West Branch. His mother Nona of Iowa City; two brothers
Wayne and Bill both of Iowa City,three sisters Dinah Cassabaum of West Branch; Delores Wellman of West Liberty;Susan Rockafellow of Colorado Springs.13 grandchildren and one great grandchild. His father Willard Sr. brothers Willard Jr.and Leonard and infant sister Bonnie died earlier.
