Claude Sexton, 96, of Hills, IA, left this world to be with his comrades in arms Monday, December 7, 2015 on the 74th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor. Per his wishes his body has been donated to the University of Iowa, Deeded Body Program and services will be held at a later date. Burial will take place in the Lone Tree Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Atrium Village, Hills, IA.

Claude was born March 30, 1919 in Iowa City the son of Jacob and Victorine (Gerot) Sexton. He served in the United State Army during WWII, as an auto mechanic and drove a halftrack. After serving his country Claude worked as a mechanic for several oil rigs in India. Upon returning home to Iowa, he worked as a mechanic for Bob Womer, and then Schnoeblen Inc. where he continued until his retirement. Claude was beyond a master mechanic and had a knack for fixing anything from children’s toys to heavy diesel equipment. Even after retirement he continued to help his family and friends in any way that he could. He also enjoyed attending the senior dining in Riverside and working on his puzzles. Claude was a very generous man and will be dearly missed.

Claude is survived by a brother Marion (Josefina) Sexton of Riverside, IA, and a sister Gladys Hermann of McAllen, TX; two sisters-in-law, Jeanette Sexton of Riverside and Elaine Sexton of Fort Worth, TX; and many nieces and nephews.

Claude was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Roy, Louis, Clayton, and Fay Sexton.
