Jon M. Lalla, 59, of Iowa City, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.

A Service of Remembrance will be held Monday, November 23rd at 11:00 am at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. The family will greet friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am Monday. Private burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice.

Jon was born October 30, 1956 in Iowa City, the son of Vincent and Mary Pat Lalla.
A lifelong resident of Iowa City, Jon graduated from Iowa City West High School in 1976.

He initially worked for the Iowa City Community School District at South East Junior High School – where he was a custodian for over 30 years. Jon was an avid Hawkeye fan and loved following the Hawks on TV.

Jon is survived by his mother, Pat Lalla of Iowa City; his siblings, Joe (Vicki) Lalla, Jim Lalla, Miranda Lalla and Jason Lalla – all of Iowa City; nieces & nephews, Vince, Katie, Tom, Greg, Patrick, Brandon and Ruben; great-nieces & nephews, Joey, Taitlyn, Rylee & Emerson; uncle Joseph (Sue) Lalla of Raeford, NC
and a cousin Caroline Lalla.

Jon was preceded in death by his father Vincent, a sister Anne and his grandparents, Vince & Pearl Lalla and Joe & Miranda Maiuri.
