Shirley R. Pratt, 86, of Iowa City, died Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Lantern Park Nursing Home. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, November 20, 2015 at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery, Washington, IA at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Shirley Pratt Memorial Fund.

Shirley was born September 10, 1929, the daughter of Frank and Alice (Bishop) Burris. She met and married Charlie F. Pratt on September 10, 1953 in Muscatine, IA; he preceded her in death on April 22, 2014. Shirley was a switchboard operator at the VA Hospital for 25 years.

Shirley is survived by her son William (Melissa) Pratt of Iowa City; brother and sister, Carol Ward of Pella, IA, Lynden (Gladys) Burris of Decatur, IL and numerous half brothers and sisters; granddaughter Bergen Dalton of Harper; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Joe (Alberta) Pratt of Marshalltown, Nancy Anderson of Brighton, Frances (Gene) Rees of Columbus Junction, and Kathryn Pratt of Agency; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband Charlie; parents; brother and sister Mildred Manasmith and Lee Burris; and brother-in-law Ted Pratt.
