Eleanor Alice ter Haar, 86, of Iowa City, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Oaknoll Health Care Center.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00a.m., Saturday, October 31, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Iowa City with Father Jeff Belger officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. Friday at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City, where a Vigil Service will be held at 7:00p.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to The Eleanor ter Haar Memorial Fund.

Eleanor was born April 29, 1929 in Maquoketa, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Susie (Campbell) Fey. She married John ter Haar on June 25, 1955 in Davenport, Iowa. John passed away in 2004.

She is survived by her son Paul ter Haar of Iowa City and her daughter Barbara ter Haar (Jamie Britto) of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Ryan Marget (Graham Theisen) of Louisville, KY, Bailey Marget of Richmond, VA and Geordy Marget of Richmond, VA; sister Dorothy Carstensen (Ingwer) of Preston, IA.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Lloyd Fey, and sister Ethel Fey.
