Randall A. “Bucky” Sotzen, 50, of Lone Tree, died unexpectedly Friday, September 25, 2015.

A time of visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, October 1st at the Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Memorials in Bucky’s name may be made to the Randall Sotzen Memorial Fund and will be directed to his son, Levi. Memories and online condolences can be shared with his family at www.gayandciha.com.

Randall Alan Sotzen was born March 30, 1965, in Ft. Dodge, IA; son of Donald and Mariel (Hills) Sotzen. He graduated from Lone Tree High School and was working at Casken Construction where he had been serving as a project manager for the past year. When not working, you could find him under the hood of a friend’s car, working on his Harley or out riding it.

Randall was a loving father, son and brother. His family includes his son, Levi; mother, Mariel of West Branch; brothers, Robert and his wife, Sue of Mt. Pleasant, MI and Wes and his wife, Linda of Iowa City; sisters, Mindy Sotzen of Iowa City and Julie Piegors and her husband, Thad of West Branch.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald and infant sister, Susan and grandparents, George and Mary Alice (Westcott) Hills and Dorrance and Julia Sotzen.
