Daniel Edward Flannery, 65, of Cosgrove, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Lantern Park Nursing and Rehab in Coralville, following a courageous battle with cancer. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Saturday, August 15 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Cosgrove with Reverend Edmond Dunn officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Friday at Lensing Funeral Home in Iowa City, where a vigil service will be held at 6:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Dan Flannery Memorial Fund.

Dan was born in Iowa City, IA on August 14, 1949, the son of Robert and Maxine (Quinlan) Flannery. He was a lifetime resident of the Cosgrove/Oxford area. He was a longtime farmer and member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include his brother Dale (Kay) of Iowa City, two nephews: Patrick (Jessica) Flannery of Iowa City and Michael (Christy) Flannery of North Carolina; and six great nieces and nephews. Dan was preceded in death by his parents.
