Mary L. Bunce, 61, of Iowa City, formerly of Albia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2015.

In honor of Mary’s wishes, no services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Iowa City Hospice (1025 Wade Street, Iowa City, IA 52240).

Mary was born on August 15, 1953 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the daughter of William and Mary (Daley) Shehan. She was a graduate of Albia High School and worked as a cosmetologist in Ottumwa for nearly 40 years. In her free time, Mary enjoyed working outside and loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter Buffy.

Survivors include her son, Todd (Amber) Carter of Iowa City and their daughter Buffy; three brothers; and one sister.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
