Olivia Jean Johnson, 70, of Iowa City, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Lantern Park Nursing & Rehab Center, Coralville.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Olivia Johnson Memorial Fund.

Olivia was born on September 16, 1944 in Greenville, Mississippi, the daughter, of Harmon and Blanche (Bradberry) Johnson. She later moved to Chicago where she met and married Robert Saffold, who passed away on October 25, 2003. Olivia enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was the rock of the family and enjoyed getting everyone together.

Olivia is survived by her four children: Anthony Johnson of Iowa City, Latrina Lee of Cedar Rapids, Jarita Johnson of Iowa City, and Robert Saffold of Chicago; ten siblings: Samuel Johnson, Willie Johnson, Barbara Johnson, Justine Hamilton, Robert Johnson, Tyrone Johnson, Carnell Johnson, Denise Gillespie, Sandra Johnson, and Demond Johnson; twenty grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.

Olivia was preceded in death by one daughter, Gwendolyn Johnson; two brothers, Dwayne and Fredrick Johnson; and one great-grandson Kevin Lee, Jr.
