Dr. Rudolph W. Schulz, 84, departed this life, May 31, 2015, at his home in Iowa City, Iowa. Rudy ardently served the University of Iowa from 1960-1995 as professor, researcher, department chair, and dean of advanced studies. He proudly served his country in the Korean War in the United States Naval Air Forces from 1951-52.

Rudolph is preceded in death by Charlotte, his loving wife of 52 years; parents, Walter and Minna Schulz; and grandson, Trevor Power.

Rudolph is survived by his daughter, Stephanie (Michael) Power of Parker, Colorado; grandchildren: Meagan (James), Shane (Diem), Torin, and Cearra; and great-grandchild, Bailey. He is also survived by his son, Kyle (Penny) of Pueblo, Colorado, and grandsons, Phillip and Tyler.

Upon Rudy’s request, no services are planned.

Rudy and Charlotte were volunteers and benefactors of the performing arts at Hancher Auditorium. Memorials may be made to Hancher Auditorium, c/o University of Iowa Foundation (P.O. Box 4550, Iowa City, IA 52244).
