Carol R. Finn, 80, of Iowa City passed away Friday, May 15, 2015 at Lantern Park Nursing & Rehab Center, Coralville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church (Iowa City) with The Very Reverend Rudolph T. Juárez celebrating. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, May 18, 2015 at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service (Iowa City).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice or the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics -- Palliative Care (c/o The University of Iowa Foundation).

Carol was born on December 23, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Henry and Ruth (Cole) Weiland. She was a florist for her father’s floral shop, Henry C. Weiland Florist, in Highland Park, Illinois. Carol graduated from Highland Park High School in 1952. She was an administrative assistant at Barrington High School for many years. Carol was united in marriage to Patrick Finn on February 6, 1982. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Carol enjoyed gardening, reading, and spending time with her family.

Carol is survived by her husband, Patrick; five children: Sue (Bob) Dvorsky of Coralville, Laura (Philip) Fiskow of Northbrook, Illinois, Mark (Lee) Mandernach of Arlington Heights, Illinois, Melissa Mandernach of Coralville, and Jennifer (Mac) DeCarle of Sarasota, Florida; ten grandchildren: Ann and Caroline Dvorsky, Katherine Fiskow Albright (Mark) and Margaret Fiskow, Matthew, Kimberlee and Carly Mandernach, Ben Stahl, and Trey and Harry DeCarle; and two sisters, Connie (Doug) Emenecker of Delafield, Wisconsin, and Pam Barksdale of Dover, New Hampshire.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ron Weiland; and her first husband, Richard Mandernach.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Sister Rosemary Kucera, Larry Mossman and the Hospice team, Laura and the entire staff at Lantern Park, and Dr. Gwen Beck.
