Willie Earl Venay, 67 of Iowa City, Iowa died Monday, February 16, 2004 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics after a long illness.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 am to Noon at Lensing Funeral Service-605 Kirkwood Ave. Private burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, Iowa City, Iowa. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in his name.

Willie was born June 12, 1936 in Memphis, Tennessee the son of Wilson Kelley and Ester Veney. He married Barbara Lesenby in Des Moines, Iowa. He was raised in Chicago. He worked as a Cab Driver in various states. He lived in Iowa City since 1990. He volunteered at the Crisis Center.

He is survived by his son, Bobby Jones of Iowa City, Iowa.
