Virgil J. Kasper, 82, of Tiffin died peacefully on Friday, January 11, 2013 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty.

Virgil was born June 29, 1930 in Iowa City, the son of Elmer and Mary Kasper. Virgil was a graduate of University High School in Iowa City. He served his country in the United States Army from 1951-1953. On May 7, 1955 Virgil married Darlene Smith. He worked as a plumber for Larew Plumbing & Heating for nearly 40 years before his retirement in 1995.
Virgil is survived by his wife of 57 years Darlene, 3 children, Randy (Dawn) Kasper, Vicki (Gary) Metz, Monte (Cindy) Kasper;, 6 Grandchildren; Brandon (Alicia) Kasper, Melana Kasper, Torri (Chad) Klein, Daniel Metz, Travis Kasper, Heather Kasper and her fiancé Eric Duhachek, 2 great-grandchildren; Meredith Kasper ,Owen Kasper, another great-grandchild due in March, and 1 brother; Glenn (Pat) Kasper.

Virgil is preceded in death by his parents, his 2 brothers; Robert (Margaret) Kasper, and Duane (Mary) Kasper.
