Sherry L. (Augustine) Bremner, 56, of Washington, died at her home, Tuesday, December 18, 2012, after a long fight with cancer.

In accordance with Sherry’s wishes she has been cremated and no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Paws & More Animal Shelter (1004 West Madison St, Washington, IA 52353). Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for Sherry’s arrangements.

Sherry was born September, 25, 1956, at Camp Crowder Army Hospital in Neosho, MO; daughter of Bernice and James Augustine Sr. She graduated from Iowa City West High in 1975 and later attended the University of Iowa and Kirkwood obtaining her degree as an RN. She worked many years in the Iowa City area at nursing and care facilities.

Her family includes her husband of 27 years, William “Bill” Bremner; mother, Bernice Augustine; sister, Diane Berg; brother, James Augustine Jr.; Nieces, Kim, Anna, Elizabeth and Samantha Augustine, Brittany Nelson; nephews, Michael Augustine and Michael Nelson; four great-nephews; one great-niece and her special children; dog, Tommy and cat Punky.

She was preceded in death by her father, James and sister, Janet Nelson and nephew, Benjamin Augustine.
