Rose Ceynar, 94, of Oxford, died Thursday, November 1, 2012, at the Lantern Park Nursing and Rehab Center in Coralville.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2012, at the Oxford Chapel of Gay & Ciha Funeral Service. Burial will follow at the Oxford Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in her memory to Care Initiatives Hospice. Rose was born May 21, 1918, in rural Benton County, Iowa the daughter of Wes and Sylvia (Dloughy) Svoboda. She attended schools in the Amana area. Rose was united in marriage to Richard Ceynar on July 8, 1936, in Swisher.

Her family includes three sons, Robert Ceynar and his wife, Sandy of Pearland, TX; Ronald Ceynar of Cedar Rapids; and Raymond Ceynar and his wife, Sally of Oxford; 5 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; granddaughter, Tammy Ceynar DeLaney; great-grandson, Nicholas Ceynar; 2 brothers, Wesley and Joseph Svoboda and 5 sisters, Mary Mouchka, Anne Novak, Lillian Vanous, Barbara Pracha, and Jane Rotter.
