Laura A. Nicola, 54, of Coralville, Iowa, passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals following a short illness on October 3rd, 2012, with family and friends by her side. A gathering for family and friends to remember Laura, will be held Sunday, Oct 7th, 2012, from 2:00-5:00 pm, at Lensing’s Oak Hill, 210 Holiday Road in Coralville. Funeral services will held 11:00 am, Monday October 8th 2012 at the funeral home.
Laura A. Nicola, was born July 16, 1958 in Olney, Texas. She graduated from Prairie High School in 1976. She previously worked at the University of Iowa Hospitals in housekeeping. She served in the Iowa Army National Guard, 234th Signal Battalion from 1977-1992. Laura married the love of her life, Robert Nicola on March 10th, 1990 in North Liberty, Iowa.
Laura's passion was her love of all her friends and family. Bowling was a very important piece to Laura's life's puzzle. She also avidly loved collecting elephants, going fishing, camping, canoeing, working in her flowers and doing cross-stitch. She enjoyed spoiling all her nieces and nephews. She had a heart of gold and loved everyone who crossed her path.
Her family includes: her husband, Robert, her mother and father: John and Edith Meyer of Walford. Brothers and sisters: Allan (Kim) Richardson, of Buchanan, Mi, Monica Claman of Rock Springs, Wy, Deidre (Ron) Frett, Manchester, Michael Richardson, Kemmerer, Wy, Michelle (Mike) Burhite, Cedar Rapids and many nieces and nephews, and many, many friends all who will miss her dearly.
