Marcelle Ruth Williams, 53 of 1232 Duck Creek Dr. and formerly of Lincoln, Nebraska died Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics after a battle with breast cancer.

Marcelle was born September 21, 1950 the daughter of Jerome and Angela (Cabrera) Christensen. She attended Ruskin High School and received her B.A. in Mathematics and Education from University of Nebraska at Lincoln, graduating Summa Cum Laude. On August 22, 1970 she married Jerry L.Williams. For twenty one years she worked as a systems analyst for the state of Nebraska, Dept. of Revenue. Since 1991 she has worked as a secretary for the University Of Iowa College Of Law Library. Marcelle was a very active member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, teaching Sunday school and Confirmation classes. She also served on the Building Committee on the Congregational Counsel and chairperson of the Education Committee, usher and a member of the women of ELCA. Marcelle enjoyed reading and spending time with her loved ones.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Williams of Iowa City, her children, Sonya Miller and her husband Rustin of Iowa City, Iowa, her son, Blake Williams Iowa City and his fiancée Becky Deutmeyer of Dyersville, Iowa, her sister, Alana Stirn and her husband Kenneth of Kearney, Nebraska and her brother, Rick Garcia and his wife Gale of Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She is also survived by one grandchild, Dallas Miller.

Her parents preceded her death.
