Ronald A. Johnson, 75, of Oxford died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 5, 2012.
Ron was born on September 8, 1936 in rural Johnson County, IA, the son of Alfred and Marie (Vrchoticky) Johnson. He was a 1954 graduate of Cosgrove High School and later went on to be a lifelong farmer. On April 18, 1959, Ron married Priscilla Purvis in Iowa City.
Ron was an avid fisherman, hunter and trapper and greatly enjoyed these activities. He also painted houses and was very proud of the number in which he completed. Most importantly, Ron loved his family and spending time with them. He will truly be missed!
Survivors include his wife Priscilla of Oxford, son Randy (Wanda) Johnson of Oxford, daughter Tami Jackson (Chuck Harvey) of Kalona, IA, grandchildren: Cheryl Bautista, Jennifer Johnson, Hailey Jackson and Shelby Jackson, and Shawn Harvey and Julie Harvey; one great-granddaughter Liliana Bautista, and a brother-in-law Paul Noah of Iowa City.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Delores Noah.
