Dr. Charles L. Dagle, 82 of Iowa City, formerly of Fort Dodge, Iowa passed away August 29, 2012 at Mercy Hospice in Iowa City. In accordance with Charles’s request, he has donated his body to the University of Iowa Medical School for further research. Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
Charles is survived by his wife Margaret Dagle of Iowa City, daughters, Karen Luft and her husband Denny of Sioux City Iowa, Mary Sherman and her husband Mark of Fort Dodge, Ann Iverson and her husband Tim of Minneapolis, Minnesota; sons Charles B. Dagle of Denver, Colorado, Paul Dagle of Key West, Florida and Dr. John Dagle and his wife Becky of Iowa City; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Nels and Mary Dagle.
Charles L. Dagle was born on March 8, 1930 and married Margaret E. Spear in Sioux City before locating in Fort Dodge. He attended Morningside College in Sioux City where he graduated with honors and later furthered his education at the University of Iowa to become a physician. He served in the U.S. Air Force before becoming a local physician in Fort Dodge for several years. He loved spending time with his family and that he enjoyed traveling, camping and reading.
