Dorothy Ingalls, 93, died at Briarwood Care Center Thursday, July 19th 2012.

Funeral Services will be on held at 10am Monday, July 23rd, 2012 at First United Methodist Church in Iowa City, with the Rev. Ken Royar officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00-5:00pm at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Sunday parking regulations will apply. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that memorials are made to The Mercy Hospital Foundation for the Mercy Stroke Club.

Dorothy was born May 4, 1919 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of John and Ernestine Miller Van Oosten. On May 17, 1938 Dorothy married Morton Ingalls in Hammond, Indiana.
Dorothy was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Iowa City and was a founding member of the Mercy Iowa City Stroke Club. For many years the family lived in Chicago where she was employed as a secretary.

From 1978-1992 Dorothy and Morton lived in West Liberty where they were members of First United Methodist Church and she was a member of the West Liberty Floriculture Club.
Dorothy is survived by her three children Sharon (Walter) Hacker of Manteno, Illinois, Linda (Gary) Wickersham of Salina, Kansas, and Ken Ingalls of Iowa City; four grandchildren, Laine, Robin, Trevor, and Curtis, and six Great-Grandchildren; and two daughter-in-laws Paula Ingalls and Susan Chasse’, both of Iowa City.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother, Arthur.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that memorials are made to The Mercy Hospital Foundation for the Mercy Stroke Club.
