Alden D. Davidson, 78, of Plainfield, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at his home.

Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 28, 2012, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Greene, Iowa. Inurnment will be at a later date. Online condolences may be sent to Alden’s family through the web @ www.gayandciha.com.

Alden D. Davidson was born May 26, 1934, in Waverly, Iowa; son of John and Pearl (Pierson) Davidson. He spent most of his life as an over-the-road truck driver, but also spent several years farming and working for a local crane service. He served stateside in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and after his service married Laveda R. Bass, on July 18, 1959, in New Hartford, Iowa. They spent many years together in Allison and Denver and in 2009, Alden moved to Plainfield. One of Alden’s favorite activities was playing cards with his family and friends.

His family includes his sons; Randy (Mary Jo) Davidson of Fredericksburg and Allan (Christine) Davidson of Plainfield; brothers, John, Glen, Thomas and Robert Davidson; sisters-in-law, Elsie Wiegmann, Lucile Bass, Rosie McMullen, Kay Masters, Ruby Davidson and Darlys Davidson as well as ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 2007; parents; infant children, Bradley and Diane; and siblings, Delbert “Sandy”, Jim, Bernice, Edna, Roy and Dale.
