Jeanne Wretman Goodrich, 86, of Iowa City died peacefully on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Lantern Park Nursing and Rehab Center in Coralville. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 pm at Lensing Funeral Home, 605 Kirkwood Avenue, Iowa City. Funeral Services will be 9:30 am Friday at Lensing Funeral Home with burial to follow at 3pm at Ft. Dodge Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to a hospice of your choice.
Jeanne was born in Ft. Dodge, IA on January 2, 1926, the daughter of Reuben and Ruth (Eckstrom) Wretman. She married her husband of 36 years Berwin Goodrich on August 4, 1946.
Jeanne was a pharmacy technician at Wiewel Drug for 25 years. She moved to Iowa City in 1985 to be closer to her children, grandchildren and beloved Hawkeyes. Besides being a loving mother, she centered her life around her children, grandchildren, Hawkeyes, Cubs, bridge, scrabble and reading.
She is survived by her children: Pam Pallack of San Rafael, CA, Barb (Loren) Leistikow of Iowa City, and Doug (Cindy) Goodrich of Iowa City; and six grandchildren: Chad Leistikow, Krista Leistikow Schaffer, Nicole Leistikow Krumwiede, Amy Goodrich Bouman, Jill Goodrich and Kelli Goodrich; and six great-grandchildren.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, an infant granddaughter Melanie Goodrich and a son-in-law Wally Pallack.
