DEATHS
Robert Bireline, 64

Mass for Robert Bireline will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic church, with burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. Harry Linnenbrink will officiate.

Mr. Bireline, 64, formerly of Iowa City, died Sunday at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown after a long illness.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Callahan Funeral Home, where the parish rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Iowa City Hospice, Inc.

He was born May 4, 1924, in Oxford, son of Cyril and Esther SCHMIDT BIRELINE. He graduated from Oxford High School and the Univeristy of Iowa with bachelor's and master's degrees in mechanical engineering. He worked for IBM in Rochester, N.Y., and for Amana Refrigerations. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

He was a lifetime member of the UI Alumni Association.

He is survived by four sisters, Barbara (Mrs. Willliam) Hall of Aurora, Ill., Marilyn (Mrs. Leslie) Davisson of Sun City Center, Fla., Mary (Mrs. Robert) Hanrahan and Virginia (Mrs. Donald) Hebert, both of Iowa City. His parents and one brother died earlier.
