Tong Aan Tan, 78, of Iowa City, died unexpectedly Monday at his home.

Services will begin Friday at 9:00 am at Lensing Funeral Service in Iowa City. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City.

Tong was born February 10, 1934 in Cambodia. He worked as a farmer in Cambodia and came to the United States in March of 2004.

Tong is survived by his children, daughters, Uotiary Neou, Dinnara Someth (Thom Someth), Sokounmany Uon, all of Iowa City and Boravy Tan of Cambodia and one son, Monyrath Tan (Sokan Sanh) of Iowa City, five grandchildren of Cambodia and five grandchildren in Iowa City.

His parents and his wife Vorn Seng (in 1979) died before him.
