Jerome Orlof Crain

Jerome Orlof Crain died at the age of 96 on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, at his home in Camarillo Heights.

Jerry, as he was known to all who knew him, was born April 23, 1909, in Iowa City, Iowa. He moved to California in 1927 and married Elsie Frieberg in 1929. They had been married for 67 years when Elsie died on Dec. 1, 1999.

Jerry had been a resident of Camarillo Heights since 1954. It is said that Jerry enjoyed life to its fullest. He was well-known for his stories and jokes.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Lilly Crain ; three grandchildren, Patrick Crain , Dorie Pellegrin and Ernest Crain ; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; his brother, Allen Crain of Albuquerque, N.M.; and his sister, Kate McDaniel of Titusville, Fla.
