Ledger Westfall

Ledger C. Westfall, 78, of 421 Dubuque Street, died unexpectedly at his home early Saturday.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Donohue Mortuary with the Rev. Richard Trost of Zion Lutheran Chruch officiating. Burial will be in the Mentzer Cemetery southwest of Iowa City.

Mr. Westfall was born Dec. 9, 1882, in Walnut to Charles and Louise Tradle Westfall. He farmed most of hs life in Johnson County, until he retired and moved to Iowa City.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Paul Hesser of Iowa City, and Mrs. Betty Christofferson of Nichols; a brother, Raymond of Des Moines; three sisters, Mrs. Oscar Tappan of HIlls; Mrs. Charles Doyle of Oxford, and Mrs. Eldo Peterman of Iowa City; and a number of grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, one sister and three brothers.
