Charlotte M. Miller, 91, of 805 Wylde Green Rd, died Monday September 1, 2003 at University of Iowa Healthcare from injuries suffered from a fall at her home.

Friends may call Thursday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. Services will then be held at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church in Iowa City.

Charlotte was born November 2, 1911 in Iowa City, the daughter of Arthur and Lydia (Davis) Garwood. She married Oral Miller June 25, 1933 in Iowa City. Mr. Miller died in February of 1979.

Charlotte originally worked as a nurse’s aide at University of Iowa Hospitals in the early 1930’s. She later worked in business with her husband as bookkeeper at Millers Conoco and Millers Propane for 42 years, retiring in 1976. She was a member of the Iowa City VFW Women’s Auxiliary, Iowa City Eagles Auxiliary, Order of Eastern Star, and First Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by one brother, Robert Garwood. of Phoenix, Arizona, and 18 nieces and nephews; her special family and long time friend, Roy Lenz of Iowa City and his daughters, Kay Myers & husband Pat of Pleasantville, Iowa, and Karen Evans and husband Terry of Springville, Iowa, and their families.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Edward, Walter, and Kenneth.
