Pioneer Dies at Old Home

David Fountain, aged 78, a pioneer of Fremont Twp., Johnson County, is dead at the home of his nephew, Levi Fountain, on a farm northwest of Lone Tree. He had passed most of his life in that community, although he was a native of North Carolina, from which state he came to Iowa when he was a babe.

Surviving are his two sisters, Mrs Hannah Murphy and Mrs Nancy Trout, and his brother, Emsley Fountain, all of Johnson County.

The funeral was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of Levi Fountain. Rev David Phillips, master of the Riverside Methodist church, officiated. Internment was made in the nearby Fountain cemetery,

Old friends will grieve over his good man's death.
