Evelyn A. Buddin, 90, of Davenport, died Monday, January 24, 2011 at her daughter’s home in Coralville.

Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Zion Lutheran Church in Iowa City. The funeral service will follow at 5:00 pm at the church. Pastor Mark Pries will officiate. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 10:00 am in the mausoleum at Oakdale Cemetery in Davenport, Iowa. Reception following at CASI. Memorials may be directed to The Evelyn A. Buddin Memorial Fund.

Evelyn was born June 23, 1920 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of William T. and Adelina (Schroeder) Van-Walterop. Growing up in Davenport, she graduated from Davenport High School.
Evelyn attended the acclaimed Studio of L. Burch in Davenport. She married Kenneth Buddin in April of 1942 in Davenport.

Evelyn worked at the Rock Island Arsenal for 35 years and during World War II, as an engineering assistant for Bendix Aerospace.

Evelyn had been a member of the Quad City Music Guild, The CASI Golden Tones, Handel Oratorio Society, ABWA, Older Women’s League (OWLS), Rock Island Arsenal Chorus. Evelyn was involved in all the arts. Most recently, Evelyn was active in ICCT.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Buddin of Coralville and Marshall Buddin of Iowa City;
Grandson Kylie Buddin of Iowa City, a great-grandson Hamish Iowa City; sister Vera Scheeper (Leroy) of Kanawha, Iowa and a brother, Reverend Norman Van-Walterop (Mary) of Modesto, California.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Kenneth.
