Phyllis G. Lewis, 76, of 1851 Melrose Avenue died Thursday, May 29, 2003 at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.

Family Services will be held at a later date. Her remains will be scattered in the mountains near Dolores, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Iowa Chapter of the National Kidney Foundation, 701 10th Street SE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52406.
Arrangements are with Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service.

Mrs. Lewis was born June 10, 1926 in Garden City, Kansas, the daughter of Rollin and Mary Seeley Shaul. She married Leland Lewis on August 25, 1962.

She was a graduate of Oklahoma State University. Phyllis was an artist, amateur photographer and enjoyed birds and wildlife.

She and her husband moved to Iowa City in 1999 from Council Bluffs.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Leland of Iowa City; Two sons, Michael Lewis and his wife Janet and their children April and Kellyof Garretson, South Dakota, and Eric Lewis and his wife Kristi and their children Chayce, Casey and Chane of Madison, South Dakota; Her mother, Mary Shaul of Lawton, Oklahoma; One brother, Rollin F. Shaul of Chambersburg, Pennsylvamia; and Two Sisters, Barbara McGuffin of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Jacqueline Archer of Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
