STRUB - Alvia John Strub, 72, of 775 Ohio Ave., died Wednesday in a Los Angeles hospital. He came to Long Beach five years ago from Maywood, Ill. Mr. Strub was affiliated with St. Matthew's Catholic Church and was a member of the Eagles in Forrest Park, Ill.

Surviviors include his wife, Lucille; son Donald; four sisteres, Mrs. Rena Thomason, Mrs. Gertrude Miller, Mrs. Mary Kessler and Mrs. Pansie Leighton; and two grandchildren. Rosary will be recited Friday at 8 p.m. in Mottell's and Peek Chapel and Mass of requiem will be offered at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Matthew's Church.
