Ann Katherine, daughters of Jacob and Katherine Brauch was born at Homestead, Iowa, Nov. 26, 1866 and passed away at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, Nov. 14, 1941 after a short illness.

She was united in marriage with George H. Schwab, who survives with four daughters and five sons: Mrs. O. M. Albright and Jacob of Oxford; Mrs. Robert Crawford of Williamsburg: Mrs. H. C. Gillin of Chicago, Ill.; John of Columbus Junction; George of Oskaloosa; Leyis of Wellman; Clarence and Mrs. Fred Miller of Dunlap, Ill. One son and daughter died in infancy. Three brothers, Fred and Henry Brauch of Oxford and William Brauch of Marengo; forth grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

She was a member of St. Johns’ Lutheran church, also attended the Methodist church and was a willing worker in the Ladies Aid Society.

She won the respect and admiration of all who knew her, and will be sorely missed in the home, church and community by both young and old. Her bravery and fortitude in her last hours will never be forgotten by those closest to her.

She has gone to meet her God, and she was ready.

The funeral service was conducted from the Federated church in Oxford, Iowa, Sunday afternoon, Nov. 16 at two o’clock by Rev. R. Underwood, pastor.
Mrs. Henry Dee, Mrs. Ernest Singer, Mrs. Dewey Warthman and Mrs. R. Underwood sang: “In the Garden,” “We Are Going Down the Valley,” “Never Say Goodbye.” Mrs. P. A. Klenk accompanied on piano.

Earl Klenk, Elmer Douglass, Lou Mueller, Charles Oakes, James Falls, Ed. Frees were pallbearers. The body was laid to rest in the Oxford cemetery.
