Services were held this afternoon at Beckman Butherus Funeral Home for Howard J. McPherson, 77, of 605 Greenwood Drive, who died Saturday at a local nursing home. Burial was in Memory Gardens.

Mr. McPherson was born May 3, 1895, in Ohio and came to Iowa City as a young man. He made his home for a number of years at Lake Macbride and was employed as a bookkeeper for Carl Chadek Trucking Company in Iowa City He was married to Lottie Scott On Aug. 31, 1925 at Ames. She preceded him in death.

Mr. Mcpherson is survived By one niece, Mona Rose Enabit of Des Moines.

Besides his wife one brother and two sisters died earlier.
