Rina Bar-Lev, born in Tel-Aviv, Israel on January 9, 1938, died September 4, 2010 at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.

As a young mother, she moved to Caracas, Venezuela in 1968, where she raised her daughter and two sons. She was a teacher in the Caracas Jewish School for over 20 years; many of her students remember her most for inspiring them with yearly school trips to Israel. After her teaching career, she opened a costume jewelry factory, which she continued to run with her sons up to the time of her death.

She enjoyed traveling, cooking and spending time with friends and family. After being diagnosed with lung cancer, she fought courageously, never giving up hope.

She is survived by her sister Behira Bloom, her brother and sister in law, Ovi and Lucille Lalo; her daughter and son in law, Kineret and Joseph Zabner, her sons and daughters in law, Dan and Karina Bar-Lev and Rafael and Mireya Bar-Lev; 9 grandchildren, whom she adored. She will be missed by all who knew her.
