Michael Martin Nagel, 55, of Iowa City died Thursday, June 3, 2010 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center of cancer.
Family Committal Services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to (BIC) Bicyclists of Iowa City 846, Iowa City, IA 52242. Arrangements are with Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service.
Michael was born October 23, 1954 in West Union, Iowa, the son of John and Betty Minihan Nagel. He was a 1973 graduate of Emmetsburg High School and received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Coe College. Michael served in the US Navy from 1978 to 1982.
Michael had been employed in the pathology department at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. He was a member of the Bicyclists of Iowa City.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Julie Nagel; four brothers, Bob (Esther) Nagel of Pueblo West, CO, Ron Nagel of Emmetsburg, Jim (Helen) Nagel of Cedar Rapids, and Pat (Nancy) Nagel of West Branch; his sister-in-law Sandy Nagel of Eagan, MN; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dave and Thomas.
