James J. "Jimmy" Worden, 52, of Iowa City, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, May 29th, 2010 at the Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. A time of visitation will be held from 8 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. Saturday. A memorial fund has been established in Jimmy's name. Condolences may be sent to Jimmy's family through the web @www.gayandciha.com.
James J. "Jimmy" Worden was born August 5th, 1957, son of Bernice (Haberman) and Alvin Worden. He attended school in Iowa City and spent his last school years at City High School. Jimmy worked many jobs and had many talents; whether he was working in the body shop or painting buildings, he always did it right and took great pride in his work. When he wasn't working, he could be found outdoors often hunting or fishing. Jimmy was an avid fisherman who enjoyed teaching young anglers the hobby he knew so well and loved so much. He also spent his time in the woods and ditches looking for mushrooms and asparagus.
Jimmy's family includes his mother, Bernice; sisters, Kathy Richardson of Iowa City, Mary (Jim) Morrill of Tampa, FL.; brothers, Mark (LuAnn) of North Liberty, Bob of Iowa City, Richard (Gloria) of North Liberty, Ronald (Delien) of West Brook, MN., Roger (Phyllis) of Okabena, MN., Tom (Darla) of Mankato, MN., David (Julie) of Fulda, MN., and Charles (Ursula) of Farmington, IA.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, brothers Ted and Dan; sister, Jan Sanderson and brother-in-law Bob Richardson.
