Jeannette Marie Ockenfels, 74, of Iowa City died Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Washington County Hospital following a brief illness.
Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, March 30, 2010 from 4 to 6 pm at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service. Graveside Services will be at a later date at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Norway, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Reach For Your Potential or Pathways.
Jeannette was born April 12, 1935 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Leo and Jeannette Lichty Ockenfels. Jeannette had been employed by Goodwill Industries and was involved with Systems Unlimited and Reach For Your Potential. A longtime Iowa City resident, Jeannette had recently moved to the Washington Care Center.
Survivors include her siblings, Lawrence (Joan) Ockenfels of Gilbert, AZ, Joanne (Mac) Brownlie of Prescott, AZ, Rosalind (Bill) Strabala of Arvada, CO, Leo (Coleen) Ockenfels of Vinton, IA, Mary Ockenfels of Iowa City, Jim (Terry) Ockenfels of Noblesville, IN and Bernadette (Joe) Carratura of Prescott, AZ; numerous niece and nephews; She was preceded by her parents and three siblings David, John and Sharon.
